With Mumbai’s busy streets and climbing temperatures, everyone’s wondering, “Will it rain this week?” People are cautious as forecasts suggest some light rain in Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar.
As per the latest updates, some areas might see light rains but entire state is likely to face widespread heatwave this week.
“Mumbai, Thane & Palghar likely to get drizzle/light rains for next 36-48 hours. More chance towards North, good rain expected in Southern Gujarat as per the latest forecast”, Mumbai Rains, a popular weather handle on X said on Thursday (April 26).
Further, based on the forecast report by IMD, there will be a major widespread heatwave in Maharashtra. “Temperatures expected to rise 42-45°C in Marathwada & Vidarbha as per IMD-GFS forecast. Pune is also likely to touch 42°C,” said Mumbai Rains.
According to the regional forecast for the next five days, maximum temperatures in Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada will not change significantly in the next 24 hours but will increase by 2-4°C afterward.

IMD Alert for the Upcoming Days
According to the IMD’s predictions, Mumbai will see a gradual rise in temperature over the upcoming days. The temperature will start rising on April 26, 2024, with a minimum of 26°C and a maximum of 35.0°C.
The heatwave develops on April 27, with a high temperature of 37°C under the clear sky. April 28 and 29 are forecast to be considerably warmer, with highs of 38°C and 39°C. Throughout this time, the skies are expected to stay mostly clear.
As Mumbaikars are waiting for rain, they should be prepared for heatwave. While the forecast indicates limited chances of rain, everyone should be attentive and prepared for the current hot weather conditions. Stay hydrated and seek shelter from the sun to stay healthy during this time.
