Currently, HDFC ERGO offers four variants of the My Health Suraksha health insurance policy, with the Koti Suraksha variant remaining unaffected by the recent decision.

Existing customers holding the discontinued health insurance plans will be migrated to alternative policies offered by the insurer. By its underwriting guidelines, HDFC ERGO will provide alternative options such as Optima Secure and Arogya Sanjeevani to all existing policyholders, including senior citizens.

HDFC ERGO still has four types of health insurance under my health Suraksha. Only one called Koti Suraksha is unaffected. They’ll move you to one of their other plans.

The insurer announced that customers with My Health Suraksha insurance policies set for renewal on or after August 7, 2024, have the option to transition to HDFC ERGO Optima Restore.

Optima Restore stands out as a distinctive health plan designed to replenish your sum insured upon partial or complete utilization of your health cover, ensuring coverage for future needs. Notably, it eliminates sub-limits on room rent, allowing you the freedom to select any room without concerns about exceeding specified limits.

Moreover, the plan features a restore benefit, effectively doubling the basic sum insured upon complete or partial utilization. Additionally, it includes a 2x multiplier benefit, doubling coverage after two consecutive claim-free years. Lastly, an optional add-on known as the protector rider is available, providing indemnity for non-payable expenses up to the sum insured at an additional premium.

They further outlined the features of Optima Restore, the policy that will be offered to existing my health Suraksha policyholders upon withdrawal of the current plan.

Optima Restore offers several benefits, including –

  • No sub-limit on room rent
  • Restore benefit that adds 100% of the basic sum insured upon complete or partial utilization
  • 2x multiplier benefit that doubles coverage after two claim-free years
  • Protector rider add-on that indemnifies non-payable expenses up to the sum insured at an additional premium.

This move underscores HDFC ERGO’s commitment to ensuring continued coverage and offering comprehensive health insurance solutions to its customers in line with evolving regulatory requirements.
