HDFC Bank has sent mailers to its customers, informing them about latest upgrade to its mobile banking application.
“We want to ensure that you have a seamless experience while upgrading to the latest and more secure version (11.2.3) of our MobileBanking App,” the bank said in an email to its customers.
According to the HDFC Bank, the new version of the App requires the SIM of the mobile number registered with the Bank to be present in the device while using the App.
Additionally, for multiple Customer IDs accessing MobileBanking App services from a common mobile device, the bank said customers should not the following update:
What’s new: According to the private sector bank, you can access HDFC Bank MobileBanking App with up to three customer IDs from a single mobile device only if the device has SIM of the mobile number registered with the Bank for the specific Customer ID.

In other words, if you want to use a common mobile for accessing multiple accounts linked to different customer IDs, you need to ensure that the SIM of the number linked to respective accounts is in the mobile phone.
The bank has also asked cusomers to maintain an active SMS subscription on their Bank registered mobile number for verification.
In the previous version of the app, HDFC Bank customers could access MobileBanking App with up to three customer IDs from a single mobile device irrespective of whether the device has SIM card of the Bank registered mobile number or not.
