UK Skilled Worker Visa Salary Package Limit 2024: The annual salary package required to get a Salary Worker Visa in The United Kingdom is going to increase from April 4, 2024.
For Indians aiming to get a Skilled Worker visa in the UK, the annual salary package will increase from £26,200 to £38,700.
As per a written statement in reply to a query in the Rajya Sabha by Union Minister of State in The Ministry of External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, the UK Home Office announced a package of measures on on 4 December 2023 to curb abuse of their immigration systems and reduce net migration.
“As per this package, the Home Office intends to increase the earning thresholds for eligibility for Skilled Worker visas in stages from £26,200 to £38,700. These changes will come into force from 4 April 2024,” the minister said.
What is the New Salary Limit for UK Skilled Worker Visa in INR?
In term of Indian currency (INR), the salary package threshold for skilled worker visa in the UK from April 4, 2024 will be approx. Rs 40,49,656 basis pound sterling to INR exchange rate at the time of writing on 9th February 2024.

Visitors exempted from increased salary package limit
Some categories of visitors will be exempted from the new salary package threshold. According to the statement, visitors coming to the UK on Health and Social Care Visa Route will be exempted from the salary threshold. Further, education workers on national pay-scale occupations in the US will also be exempted.
“…those coming on the Health and Social Care Visa route will be exempt from the £38,700 salary threshold. Education workers on national pay-scale occupations are also exempted. As per the information available, the package is applicable to all foreign nationals in the UK, including Indian nationals,” Muraleedharan said.
The increase in salary package limit for skilled workers visa in the UK is likely to impact a number of Indian nationals visiting the country. The Government of India is taking up the issue with concerned authorities in the UK at appropriate levels.
“The Government is aware of and sensitive towards the matters pertaining to Indian community and workers in the UK. These issues are discussed at all appropriate levels with the UK government,” Muraleedharan said.
