Summary

Step-by-step guide to request an income tax refund reissue if your refund was delayed due to bank account issues.

The Income Tax Department has advised taxpayers to raise ‘refund reissue’ requests if their refunds were not received due to bank account details not being validated. The deadline to file Income Tax Return (ITR) for the assessment year 2024-25 is approaching on July 31, 2024.

On Wednesday (June 26, 2024), the Income Tax Department used social media platform X to urge taxpayers to promptly request a “Refund Reissue” if their refunds did not process successfully.

As the deadline approaches within 35 days, there may be a rush at the income tax portal, increasing the likelihood of errors. Incorrect bank account details can result in failed credit or refunds.
