Finance Comic on May 14: HDFC Ergo withdraws health insurance policy?

HDFC ERGO General Insurance stopped offering three versions of their health insurance plan called my health Suraksha - Gold, Platinum, and Silver.

This change started immediately on May 8, 2024.

If you had one of those three plans, you wouldn't be able to renew them or buy them anymore.

Existing customers will be shifted to new plans like Optima Secure and Arogya Sanjeevani. These plans follow government rules about insurance.

Optima Restore is another plan they'll offer, which has some good features.

Optima Restore gives you more flexibility. You won't have a limit on the amount you can spend on your room in the hospital. Plus, if you use up all your insurance, they'll top it up again.

After two years without making a claim, they'll double your coverage. There's also an extra feature called the protector rider which helps cover some expenses that aren't normally covered by insurance.

In short, HDFC ERGO is updating its health insurance options, and if you're affected, they'll move you to new plans with similar benefits.
