Around 40,000 young Indians have applied for Australia's new ‘First Work and Holiday visa,’ which allows them to work, study, and travel in Australia for a year.
They can travel to and from Australia as often as they like during that year.
However, only 1,000 visas will be granted each year.
Other countries are also easing visa restrictions for Indian travelers - Sri Lanka introduced a free visa for Indians, while Dubai now offers a five-year multiple-entry visa.
Whereas, Malaysia and Thailand are also providing visa-free entry for Indians for limited periods.
